What you will do:

The Outbase Equipment Mechanic will ensure that maintenance and repair work assigned to station/region is performed in a timely and correct manner, keeps equipment in the highest possible state of repair and appearance. This position requires you to operate independently as directed by Equipment Operations Management; must practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all LGSTX operating and safety procedures and policies; follows all safety guidelines and provides for the safety of others; works with the Outbase Maintenance Supervisor to conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local safety regulations, including but not limited to FAA, TSA, OSHA, EPA, Workers’ Compensation and Hazard Communications; ensures all applicable manufacture repair, overhaul, service, etc. rules and guidelines for equipment are followed; prepares reports, statistics and/or other documentation; works with Outbase Maintenance Supervisor to adhere to budgeted cost parameters; operates all test and service equipment necessary to carry out troubleshooting and testing of equipment; informs Equipment Operations of projects, schedules and status of equipment and provides Equipment Operations any information that may affect the operation of the assigned line station or region.

What you need:

  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D
  • Ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Verifiable seven (7) years industrial and/or commercial experience in the auto/truck general maintenance industry; experience to include basic arc and acetylene welding; troubleshooting and repairing gas and diesel engines, automatic/manual transmissions and drive trains, hydraulic systems, battery-operated equipment and related components; changing light and heavy tires and wheels; ability to travel extensively and operate independently; Note: Required experience levels may have been performed concurrently
  • One (1) or more years of formal, approved schooling will be considered as one (1) year of the overall experience requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in all of the above areas
  • Must have hand tools and volt/amp multimeter
  • Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces
  • Communicate effectively
  • Work in adverse/outdoor weather conditions near aircraft, in all climatic conditions, and in fast-paced environments
  • Wear a respirator/safety protective equipment
  • Perform work at heights
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move varied objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Preferred Skills

  • Prefer CDL Class A license
  • Basic computer – keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products is also a plus.
