MHE Field Svc Spv FL

This position directly oversees the performance of a group of MHE Mechanics who are servicing customers in his assigned geographic area of the country for LGSTX Services, Inc.  Also directly performs maintenance duties.

Job Summary:

  • Ensures that all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work for customers is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.  Monitors and ensures compliance to various state and local regulations and codes.  This work may be done by the Area Manager himself, by his staff of Mechanics, or by a contractor under his direction.
  • Develops and maintains contacts with customers.
  • Ensures that our performance is meeting or exceeding customer expectations.  Sells additional capabilities to our current customers and identifies potential additional customers.  Makes recommendations to customers regarding additional needs that LGSTX can meet for their company.
  • Manages to profitability.  Ensures that all work time and parts are properly billed.  Confirms that additional work has been authorized by the customer.  Is up-to-date on all paperwork such as invoices and payroll records.
  • Directly supervises MHE mechanics.  Schedules and assigns work, issues performance appraisals, commendations, and discipline.  Recommends changes in staffing levels to the Regional Manager.  Interviews and recommends candidates for hire.
  • Works with corporate management to identify areas of opportunity, and remove roadblocks.  Maintains good working relationships with resources such as Human Resources, Purchasing, and Accounting. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance and emergency maintenance duties to include weekends and/or evenings as required.



  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in maintenance of material handling equipment within large distribution centers.


  • Expertise with 120 v single phase AC to 480 volt 3ph AC, including but not limited to drive motors, motor soft starts units, variable frequency drives, and programmable logic controls (PLC).
  • Must have the ability to cut, weld, and fabricate.


  • Must have the ability to read and troubleshoot using electrical wire schematics.


  • Must be proficient with modern inventory control software, MS office suite of software, and work-order tracking software.


  • Must be familiar with the use of equipment maintenance manuals, MSDS manuals, and EPA regulations.


  • Must supply a set of hand tools.


  • Regional travel is required on a regular basis.




  • Prefer Electrical Certification
  • Prefer at least 2 years of experience supervising mechanics doing MHE maintenance.
